 Health and Wellness

Wellness and health are frequently used synonymously. They are two distinct ideas with separate meanings that are highly varied, even if one cannot possess both at the same time.According to the American Journal of Health Promotion, health promotion is the science and art of assisting individuals in altering their lifestyles in order to achieve the best possible condition of health. "A state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity (illness)" is how the World Health Organisation (WHO) defines health.
According to the World Health Organisation, wellness is "the optimal state of health of individuals and groups" and is characterised as "a positive approach to living."
The main distinction between wellbeing and health is that the latter is the active process of reaching the former. Achieving wellbeing is a prerequisite for attaining health. General health is directly impacted by wellness, and general health is necessary to lead a vigorous, contented life.

Social Wellness

Making and sustaining good relationships via our decisions is the process of social wellness. It includes friendships, our relationships with everyone, including the next generation, and our relationships at work and at home. The social dimension promotes making contributions to the physical and human environments for the benefit of your community as a whole.

Our interpersonal connections and interactions with others are aspects of social wellbeing. Our relationships can provide comfort when things are tough. Developing wholesome, caring, and encouraging interactions as well as a sincere connection with others around you are essential components of social wellness.

Physical Wellness

The process of choosing decisions to build strong, flexible, cardiovascularly fit, and energising bodies is known as physical wellness. Our decisions affect how we handle stress, how we eat, how much sleep and exercise we get, how we manage our injuries and illnesses, how we use alcohol and other substances responsibly, and how we intentionally and responsibly engage in sexual activity.
Physical wellness includes managing chronic health disorders, avoiding disease and injury, and realising the importance of sleep, healthy diet, and physical activity.

Emotional Wellness

The process of establishing, acknowledging, and expressing our emotions as well as having constructive conversations with ourselves is known as emotional wellness. Part of this process includes genuinely evaluating one's potential and limitations as well as developing and sustaining a good, realistic self-concept. Speaking about one's emotions—such as fear, anger, grief, and joy—and choosing constructive ways to express them via behaviour are other aspects of emotional wellness.
Over time, your responses to events and emotions may evolve. The capacity to effectively manage life's stressors and adjust to change and challenging circumstances is known as emotional wellbeing.

Career Wellness

The process of making and keeping decisions about our careers, such as selecting a job for which we are qualified, happy, and well-suited, is known as career wellness. It also entails keeping up with developments in one's chosen area and fostering a positive work atmosphere that benefits both the wellbeing of individuals and the group as a whole. Maintaining a healthy work-life balance is another requirement for career wellbeing. A sense of living and working in harmony with the special blend of skills, talents, passions, training, and life events that make you who you are is known as career health.

Enviromental Wellness

Living in enjoyable, stimulating surroundings that promote wellbeing is what is meant by environmental wellness. It encourages socialising with the natural world and cultivating a pleasurable atmosphere for oneself (in and out of your workspace). The process of making decisions that will help maintain or raise the standard of life on Earth is known as environmental wellness. This dimension covers making wise decisions about the use of energy, water, land, and air to ensure the survival and well-being of each species' future generations. An essential component of environmental wellbeing is the understanding of the interconnectedness of all living things, including plants, animals, and humans.
