Introduction:

Ø  PFA was founded in Lahore eleven years ago in 2011.

Ø  PFA was founded in the middle of 2016 in      Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Faislabad, and Multan.

Ø  It started operating formally in all of Punjab's

   districts in 2017.

Ø  It controls the province's food safety and sanitation.

Ø  Ensuring everyone has access to safe food is   PFA's primary mission.

The Act of 2011 has addressed a range of enforcement instruments.

  • These consist of improvement notices,
  •  Ticketing and fee imposition,
  •  Food item seizure,
  •  Building sealing,
  •  Legal prosecution,
  •  emergency restriction orders,
  •  section recall of inadequate food item.

Method of Sampling

Three samples of any commodity are taken

Ø  Every sample is appropriately labeled, sealed, and shipped.

Ø  A single sample and sample form are given to the FBO.

Ø  The public analyst receives the second sample and the lab

      forwarding form.

Ø  Submission of the third sample to the Punjab Food

     Authority

Improvement notice:

The improvement notice is the first instrument in the enforcement procedure.

Following an inspection, the following notices were served based on the state of the property.

EPO:

Ø  If there is a health concern associated with any food business,FSO must respond within 24 hours of the discovery of the situation.

Ø  The owner of the food business received EPO, but he forbade them from working or selling their goods.

On Spot Test:

Ø  Lacto-Scan (Adulteration of milk)

Ø  Starch Test

Ø  Red pepper adulteration test

Ø  Salt Adulteration test

Lactoscan

Ø  Switch on the instrument by plugging it in and turning on the power.

Ø  Navigate to the Main menu and pick the desired area.

Ø  Place the cuvetted sample inside the analyzer.

Ø  After 40 seconds, print the outcome.

      Starch Test:

Procedure:-

Ø  Fill a test tube with 5 milliliters of milk.

Ø  Add the starch solution and thoroughly combine.

Result:-A dark brown or black indicates a positive test result.

Red Pepper Adulteration Test

Procedure

Ø  In the test tube, add 2 to 3g of minced red pepper.

Ø  Pour 3 to 4 milliliters of ether into the red chili powder and let it sit for a minute.

Ø  Slowly shake the solution after adding 1 milliliter of HCL.

Ø  If there is a color shift other than red, the test is successful.

Salt Adulteration Test 

Procedure:

Ø  One or two drops of iodine show where it is pure salt or not.

Ø  If it show purple color with iodine then it is  pure.

Inspection Of Different Premises

Karyana Store

Ø   Do not buy or sale loose spices

Ø  Sale of expired items is prohibited

Ø  Keep record of all products

Ø  Do not sale MSG

Ø  Do not purchase or sale expired items

Chiken Shops

Ø  For bleedings, use blood cones. 

Ø  Avoid smoking while at work.

Ø  Apply insecticide where you're cutting chickens.

Ø   Dustbins need to be covered.

Ø  A surgical head hat should be worn over the head.

Daily Instructions for Improvement

Ø  Obtain a license from PFA.

Ø  Every employee at a food establishment needs to have a medical fitness certificate.

Ø  When working, use appropriate footwear.

Ø  Make a note of everything.

Ø  When working, wear a mask, a head covering, and gloves.

Ø  Wear nothing at all in terms of jewelry.

Ø  Avoid smoking at work.

Ø  The workspace for production needs to be tidy.

Conclusion:

v  I gain knowledge on how to detect food adulteration during my  time of internship in PFA.

v  How to assess and enhance the  state of  hygiene.

v  How to interact with individuals.

v  During my internship, I had an outstanding experience at Punjab Food Authority.
